The Route of the Future centers on the journey of Doğu Demirkol and Gizem Arıkan as they set off with the goal of reaching a festival organized for children affected by the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş. This three-day journey is not just a story of arrival; it turns into a warm narrative that brings together the people they meet in different cities of Turkey, forms of solidarity, and hopeful little moments. While every contact made along the way amplifies the emotion of the story, it opens the door to a natural, sincere, and occasionally humor-infused world.
The project combines a large-scale road production covering all of Turkey with a documentary-style narrative language. Filmed in different cities, in real locations, and with a constantly moving crew structure, the shoot makes the rhythm of the road, the diversity of the geography, and the naturalness of the encounters the main elements of the visuals. Bringing together fictional narrative and observational camera language, Route of the Future offers a powerful production experience nourished by Turkey’s streets, roads, and human stories.
